Based in Argentina, Juancho Saravia had one objective: to be able to develop Android apps—a new technology he was really excited to know more about and implement in his career. He’d heard about Coursera and decided to research online. He stumbled upon the Mobile Cloud Computing with Android Specialization and immediately enrolled as a way to get acquainted with the subject.
Even with his first experience immersing himself in a cirriculum through a language outside of his native Spanish and juggling a full time job at Intel, he stuck through the courses and completed the final, Capstone project. He presented his new credentials and skills to his executive team and got promoted to a more visible Android Developer role at Intel.
Shortly after, he decided to list his Coursera credentials on LinkedIn and was immediately contacted by multiple recruiters. He has recently been able to make another career switch and now works as an Android Developer on a project for the Walt Disney Park Resorts through the Globant Company. He credits Coursera for finally making him happy and content personally and in his career trajectory.
