Coursera’s Chief Academic Strategist, Dr. Vivek Goel will join delegates in India including Arun Pereria, Executive Director of the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Case Development at ISB, in a trip signifying Coursera’s pursuit of strategic partnerships and expanded awareness in the region. India is Coursera’s largest market outside of the US with over 700k learners pursuing higher education on Coursera and building skills to compete in a global economy.
“The partnership with ISB establishes our local presence and intent to play an active role in India,” says Goel. “As India’s internet connectivity improves, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Digital India, we believe the number of learners benefiting from Massive Open Online Classes (MOOC) will increase rapidly in the next few years.”
Coursera will focus on the opportunity to aid in skill building not only by pursuing strategic local partnerships, but also by offering courses in key sectors and industries such as entrepreneurship, computer science, and management with the option to earn Verified Certificates for single courses and multi-course Specializations.
