As a Global Solution Manager based in Pune, India, Abhay Tandon needed a way to keep up to date with industry trends. A friend introduced him to Coursera and he was hooked.
Already armed with an MBA, Abhay dove deep into University of Maryland’s Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies which identified and evaluated the business models of emerging companies. The learnings helped Abhay in his current role to reaffirm his approach when speaking with CEO’s, assessing start-ups and SME’s before introducing them to an angel investment network.
Looking to build more skills, Abhay expanded his course list to topics ranging from entrepreneurial ecosystems, finance, economics, business strategy and more. This allowed him to supplement his previous learnings, understand existing principles and keep on top of industry nuances brought up by professors. Abhay’s new credentials opened the doors for more responsibilities at work and allowed him to view the nature of his work more analytically.
Abhay continues to add to his credentials and pursue a Verified Certificate through Financial Accounting by Wharton to strengthen his skills and ultimately pursue a CFA charter in the near future.
