Editor’s Notes: The Boston incidents this week have deeply affected many individuals, families and communities. Berklee College of Music’s physical office building was at the site of the events on Monday. Below is a message from the Berklee Online team to students enrolled in Introduction to Guitar or Introduction to Improvisation, as there are changes to course start dates. The entire Coursera staff and community send our deepest support and thoughts.
Dear Courserians,
As many of you have heard, the City of Boston has been dealing with a tragedy this past week as a result of the Boston Marathon Bombing incident. The events on Monday occurred one block from the Berklee Online offices. As a result of the investigation, authorities are restricting access to all buildings within a multi-block radius of the crime scene.
Unfortunately, this means that we have not been able to access the files and resources we need to launch Berklee’s Introduction to Guitar or Introduction to Improvisation courses this coming Monday, April 22nd. We aim to delay the launch of the course by one week, to next Monday, April 29th.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we are all excited for you to join us in this course.
Thank you for your understanding, and please know that our thoughts are with anyone who has been affected by this event.
