By Betty Vandenbosch, Chief Content Officer at Coursera

Today, we’re pleased to announce the Technology Consultant Professional Certificate from SAP, a new Coursera industry partner. This certificate prepares learners of all backgrounds for an entry-level SAP technology consultant role – no college degree or prior experience required.

Businesses rely on technology consultants to advise and manage the implementation of new computer network systems, as well as provide guidance when training staff on new IT systems. Demand for technology consultants is set to increase in the coming years as organizations across industries experience digital transformation. In the U.S. alone, there were more than 50,000 technology consultant job postings in the last year, with a $76,200* median salary for an entry-level role.

The new certificate from SAP comprises seven courses, two of which are available today with the rest rolling out over the coming months. Altogether, the certificate can be completed in about  5-6 months. It is designed for learners of all professional backgrounds, and may be particularly suited to individuals who enjoy IT, business administration, and helping companies become more efficient. Upon completion of the certificate, learners will understand the SAP ecosystem, how a technology consultant supports customers, and, through work with hands-on projects, will be able to implement a full SAP lifecycle.

“SAP is thrilled to team up with Coursera to help more people connect to career opportunities in the SAP ecosystem – which is expected to create more than 500,000 jobs in the next three years,” said Max Wessel, Chief Learning Officer of SAP. “With this new Professional Certificate, anyone can prepare themselves with the in-demand skills that we know our partners and customers are looking for in their new hires.”

As the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software, SAP is a true global leader, enabling hundreds of thousands of companies of all sizes around the world to run their businesses every day. This new certificate makes the in-demand skills for roles tied to SAP software ecosystems even more accessible. We’re proud to partner with SAP to help learners of all backgrounds kickstart their careers and unlock opportunities within the digital economy.
