We are proud to welcome Sabrina Simmons as an independent director on the Coursera Board and as Chair of the Audit Committee. Sabrina brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience to our Board, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Gap Inc. In her role, she led Gap Inc.’s global financial functions, including corporate financial planning and analysis, treasury, risk management, tax, investor relations, internal auditing, and more.

Considering the global nature of the problem we are trying to solve, I look forward to drawing on her insights and financial acumen to build strong corporate planning and resource management discipline,” said Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera.

Before coming to Gap, Sabrina was Chief Financial Officer and an executive member of the Board of Directors of Sygen International PLC, a British genetics company. Prior to Sygen, Simmons spent five years at Levi Strauss & Co., where she was Assistant Treasurer. She also spent several years at HP and KPMG. Currently, Sabrina also serves on the Boards of Directors for Williams-Sonoma Inc., Columbia Sportswear Company, and e.l.f. Beauty Inc. A proud and active alumna, she sits on the University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business Advisory Board. Sabrina earned her bachelor’s degree at Berkeley and an MBA from UCLA.
