I am pleased to announce five new degrees from leading international universities, including the first degree programs on Coursera from universities in Brazil and India. With today’s launch, we now offer 30 degrees from university partners across nine countries.
We are also proud to add ten new university partners to the platform, including Dartmouth College, University of Notre Dame, Parsons School of Design at The New School, Queen Mary University of London, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, Sungkyunkwan University, Khalifa University, University of Naples Federico II, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and Jordan University of Science & Technology.
The lessons we have learned as a community over the last year are reshaping how education is delivered. As students prioritize flexibility and affordability, we are partnering with leading universities to meet the demand for online degrees. In 2020, 91% more degree students studied on Coursera than in 2019.
We are launching these world-class degrees today:
- Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of London – Leading academics at Royal Holloway, University of London, one of the top 25 universities in the UK, will prepare students for a successful marketing career. The program will equip students with a combination of conceptual and technical marketing skills, ranging from analyzing global markets to developing e-commerce and digital marketing plans within an ethical framework. Applications for the October 2021 cohort will open at the end of June. UoL plans to introduce open courses in June so that students can try a course before applying.
UoL’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Thomson, said, “Students in the Computer Science BSc with Coursera have had a life-changing experience, and I am confident that the marketing degree will serve students equally well.”
- Master of Business Administration from Fundação Instituto de Administração – Ranked as the No. 2 Executive MBA in Latin America, this English-language degree teaches essential business skills alongside frameworks on how to navigate future shifts and emerging technologies. With weekly live sessions and a curriculum focused on hands-on learning, students will learn how to create business solutions for emerging markets. Applications for the September 2021 cohort are now open, and students can try an open degree course today.
“We are proud to launch FIA’s MBA, one of the best in Brazil and the world, on Coursera. Through our partnership, we will combine the content from our renowned professors with Coursera’s experience in online learning to reach more students across the globe,” said professor Renata Giovinazzo Spers, General Director of Profuturo-FIA.
- Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics, Master of Arts in International Relations, Security, and Strategy, and Master of Arts in Public Policy from O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) – JGU, a leading private university in India, is launching three degrees on Coursera. The MBA in Business Analytics is a specialized program that teaches business professionals how to apply data analytics and data science to identify and solve business problems — preparing them for strategic, managerial, and analyst roles. The M.A. in International Relations, Security, and Strategy program teaches diplomacy, conflict resolution, ethics, and intelligence analysis to help students develop a holistic approach to international affairs. Finally, the M.A. in Public Policy prepares students for leading policy and civil service positions by teaching them to analyze policy, explore real-world policymaking first-hand, and enhance their managerial skills. Students can now apply for the MBA in Business Analytics, M.A. in International Relations, Security and Strategy, and M.A. in Public Policy for the September 2021 cohort.
“With the exciting launch of three online master’s degree programs from O.P. Jindal Global University, we aim to provide knowledge in the fields of business, public policy, and international relations and deliver a transformational, personalized online learning experience through our partnership with Coursera,” said Founding Vice-Chancellor and Professor Dr. C. Raj Kumar of JGU.
We also expanded our MasterTrack portfolio with six new MasterTrack® Certificates that provide direct pathways to degrees. These programs split degree learning into programs that learners can complete in a few months — and can count as degree credit if learners are accepted to the full program.
To further enhance the learner experience on Coursera and make it easier for educators to create in-demand content, our product team has introduced a number of new product innovations.
We are honored to work with leading university partners to expand the selection of high-quality, affordable, and flexible degrees. By increasing access to job-relevant programs, we hope to prepare a whole new generation of students for a promising future.
