SAS Specialization on Coursera

The future success of many companies, regardless of size and sector, is dependent on data. However, there is a major shortage of over 190,000 people with the deep analytical skills to understand that data and apply it to actual business goals. As demand for analytics professionals grows, those with data analytics skills such as SAS programming are in high demand in today’s job market. In fact, SAS Analytics skills are considered one of the most valuable skills a candidate can bring to the job market since over 83,000 sites around the world, including 96 of the top 100 companies on the 2017 Fortune Global 500, use SAS.

To bridge this skills gap, we’re thrilled to partner with SAS to offer the SAS Programming Specialization, including three courses:

  • Getting Started with SAS Programming
  • Doing More with SAS Programming
  • Certification Review

Launching today, the Specialization is a starting point for learners interested in applying SAS programming to in-demand careers like data engineering, data science, business analytics, biostatistics or analytics.

This three-course Specialization gives learners the programming and data management skills and experience they need to succeed in today’s data-centric workforce. There is no prerequisite for enrolling, although a basic understanding of computer science and accessing data files is recommended.

“As a global analytics software provider, we see first-hand the great demand for data analytics skills, especially as more companies develop data-driven cultures,” said Sean O’Brien, Vice President of Education at SAS. “We’re pleased to launch the SAS Programming Specialization with Coursera to make it easier for learners around the world to develop this high-demand skill.”

Learners who complete the SAS Programming Specialization will acquire the skills to pass the SAS Base Programming Certification exam, a valuable credential across industries.

Learners will also enjoy unique benefits such as:

  • Learning from interactive demos, exercises and hands-on practice using a free SAS software environment.
  • Developing job-ready skills by practicing on real-world data sets.
  • Gaining foundational knowledge for career paths in data science and business analytics, which are some of the most sought-after sectors in the world today.
